- First construction phase complete and fully let
- REWE supermarket and Q-Park already open for business
CELLS Group has handed over the first units in FÜRST to their new tenants. A new REWE supermarket and multi-storey car park are now open to the public on Uhlandstraße, just off Kurfürstendamm in central Berlin.
Perfect for everyday shopping and more, REWE's 2,000-sqm supermarket offers shoppers a particularly wide range of products and offers extra-long counters for cheese, fresh fish and high-quality meat, as well as an extensive range of sushi.
The new FÜRST multi-storey car park is operated by Q-Park and extends over six levels, providing ample parking space for more than 500 vehicles. The car park is open around the clock to both long-term and short-term. Upon final completion, FÜRST will also have an underground car park with space for an additional 300 cars. The underground car park will also be operated by Q-Park. For cyclists, FÜRST's parking facilities also include a separate bicycle garage for up to 850 bicycles.
With the first phase of construction complete, FÜRST has welcomed a number of new tenants, including one of the area's true institutions, the long-established florist Blumen Gallon, which had its premises on the same site in the former Kudamm Karee.
Under the name FÜRST, CELLS is developing an entirely new commercial complex on an almost 20,000-sqm site on Kurfürstendamm in the heart of Berlin. Upon completion, FÜRST will accommodate a total of 97,000 square metres of commercial rental space. The first construction phase on Uhlandstraße comprises 19,000 square metres of commercial space and a multi-storey car park. This first phase is almost complete and is already fully let.
"With FÜRST, we are making a major contribution to enhancing the long-term appeal of Berlin's iconic Kurfürstendamm. FÜRST combines an attractive range of commercial spaces in a prime location with excellent accessibility", says Norman Schaaf, COO of CELLS Group.
The concept for FÜRST was developed by Kleihues + Kleihues architectural office and not only revitalises an entire city block, it also creates an entirely new, public plaza. CELLS has already begun excavating a 16-metre-deep pit ready for the second construction phase.
